Most plausible explanation I can think of.
The traffic was going down since it's peak days in the past and that is not a site which will get book markers or return visitors, so it will go down more until one day there is less than a few thousand hits.

My opinion what traffic was still left on the domain will die off and any search traffic will go away fast.

Honest to God that is the way to ruin any bookmarked traffic that ever was left on the site.
How will Google even like it there is the one page, no updates terrible idea but one which will make some sales off the links and traffic that are left on there.
