what hard drive is best in a server

I'm getting ready to upgrade my server it has a single hard drive and thinking what I should go for,I am paying $94.99 a month right now for a one hard drive (500 gig) setup but will go a little higher since I have started think if that fails I might be screwed. All daily backups are on the same drive.
