[BUSINESS] do hosts monitor the servers
My hard drive failed and it took 2 hour after I opened a ticket for my host to fix it. Do hosts even know when a managed server has hardware issues or do they expect us to open a ticket?
Depends on the webhost everyone has different monitoring solutions.
2 hours to replace a hard drive is not bad.

If it is a managed server the host has to be responsible and watch for downtimes.
Not seen any I have used proactively do shit until I have had to open a ticket tell them my server was down.
I doubt 99% of them ever doBarbaraCum wrote: ↑June 18th, 2022, 10:53 amMy hard drive failed and it took 2 hour after I opened a ticket for my host to fix it. Do hosts even know when a managed server has hardware issues or do they expect us to open a ticket?
From Malta with love and sunshine
Mine for sure does not know when my server is acting up I am the one emailing them to say the sites are not loading
I guess it depends on how big a customer you are for them.
We get a pretty good proactive service from our hosts but then we do have quite a few servers with them.

Amen
That is how life is,money gets the treatment.
Not really true we monitor our shared webhosting servers and fix issues before customers notice them.
