bad news from my doctors office today I have diabetes

#1

Post by razor » June 7th, 2021, 1:22 pm

I got a call from my doctors office this morning the blood work is in and they said to go see them this week, I have diabetes. I went last week because I am always thirsty and have a very dry mouth in the mornings, I thought is was a simple thing where I sleep with my mouth open ( which i do my girlfriend always tells me that).

The other thing which never occurred to me could be related is I have lost a lot of weight in the last year, like my face, arms and legs look really skinny compared to what they were. So they say I need to go get pills, is this dangerous or will the pills help me stop losing weight.

I'm type 2 and for years controlled it without pills, maybe 15 years or so, last 3 months I'm on 500mg Janumet XR and it keeps it perfect, I still eat what I like. I did stop drinking and feel fine. Losing weight is good for you even if you are not diabetic but especially so when you are.

Go see your physician take his advice and you can live a long happy life.

I have friends that got this diagnosis, then changed their life style, then went back and tested negative.

It is curable/controllable if you act now, from my experience. IMHO

good luck!!!!

Half my family have it and so I get checked for it every year. Even though they say Type 2 is not genetic if others in your family have it you need to keep vigilant and get checked for it.

Welcome to the world of watching what you eat, I have cholesterol and am on pills plus a restrictive diet. Get used to it, I am still coping with mine for the last 5 months I was diagnosed with it.

I am pre-diabetic, my HBA1C has been 6.7 and 7.1 six months apart, and if it is above 6 in 4 months my doctor wants me on pills.

Both my parents have it and they take pills every night before dinner. Just the one pill and they feel fine. You can fight this thing do not worry.

What my grand dad has been saying for years and he is right. He eats and drinks everything in moderation. Even takes pills and injects himself ever day.

Sure being told you have diabetes is not nice , being told you have cancer is way worse. Thank your lucky stars.
