buying a blog with hundreds of sponsor links in posts need advice

Post by Krissy » October 8th, 2020, 9:21 am

Hi I am buying a 4 ear old blog with hundreds and hundreds of sponsor links in the posts. The seller said he has been with 14 sponsors over that time, he did offer to give me his account on 3 of the recent sponsors since he is not going to be using them any more, but that still makes things hard. How can I search and how can I change the sponsor links to new sponsors of mine or the affiliate links to my accounts. I can sign up to the sponsors he has there .

He is selling the blog that makes $900 a month for only $2900 and I really want to buy it. Can you give me some ideas how to redo his sponsor links please.

If you're lucky, they might use a plugin like Pretty Links, which will make changing affiliate links easy.
But, since they probably didn't, there are plugins like Better Search Plugin that can be used to find/replace links.

Also if you're buying the site based on affiliate sales, be sure to check his data and see if it's really making $900/month, or if that's what he's making with rebills over time. If it's the latter, you might not be making $900/month right from the start, if at all. j/s

If he offered the accounts, take them for sure.

Make sure you check the sponsor payments the seller received for at least the past 6 months, there is too much fluffing numbers when selling.

Krissy,

My server admin has done it for me a few times on my Wordpress blogs - replacing domains.

Reminds me, I need him to change something today.

Shoot me a PM if you'd like a hand.

Dave
