Smokin Controlling blog posts with a spreadsheet

I like the "hands on" approach so sometimes I really don't automate like I should. My spreadsheet system for keeping track of posts to my blogs is one example. It's simple, requires very little actual work once set up, and gives me the date of the last post that is set up for each blog so I can add new posts before they run dry.

Below is the spreadsheet section for the blogs I have under GarciasBlogs. The first column is the blog name and the last column is the date that the last post is scheduled. I know there is software that would do this easier but I think it is good to force myself to look at the list once a month at least so that the blogs remain real to me.

Garcia:
Good system to keep up with things.

Blogs are in my thoughts with all this talk about text text text and how the search engines love it. Blogging keys and links and chit chat about sites seems to be the perfect idea.

It is my understanding so far that blog posts and updates are picked up quickly by search engines and indexed. This has to be good for traffic.

I have set up one blog already. A question that sticks out in my mind right now is:
Is it better to have many blogs or will one big one do good?

Not a blog expert by any means but my thoughts are it's a numbers game, beter off with a few blogs than one mega one. But I may be wrong that's just my thinking on the subject.

I just done a little test to see what the results may be.

I posted to my blog 2 hours ago and just snooped google to see the results.

Searched for, wyldweb:
My blog post 2 hours ago got #3 Spot in google.

Searched for, Sex On A Pool Table:
(Subject of my blog post) It was found on page 9 of google results.

after 2 hours it was in google, I have had to wait months for a brand new domain to show up in google.

This is what has my attention about blogging.

Another post I made to my blog 2 days ago I did not do this test on but just searched for it in google and I could not find it. But I also posted it the same day I created the blog.

Interesting Stuff here, this blogging idea.

Search engines love blogs and, for some odd reason, directories and link lists seem to hate them. In most of the adult world they are treated as "non" sites even though they out-produce regular tgps and galleries.

They are picked up very quickly. Sometimes, as an associate of mine remarked last week, the SEs are too quick in picking them up and you end up listed before your blog is ready. Thats very good traffic but the best part is that it is a different traffic than TGP traffic. Your average TGP surfer is looking for something free and fast. Your average blog surfer "expects" some info and an intelligent sales pitch. However---a lot of blog owners treat their traffic just like it is TGP traffic. Very little text (if any at all) with a lot of free hardcore pictures. Those blogs tend to do very poorly when it comes to sales conversions.

There are 2 decided trains of thought on that and it all depends to how you want to market your product. If you want to specialize then one blog is fine--but you have to realize that business conditions affect the blog world just like the business world. There will be highs and lows. The days of putting up one blog and making 4 figures a month off of it are gone.

I have a lot of blogs (370 as of today) for 2 reasons.

Number 1---I hate to let go of traffic. Interested qualified surfers are hard to come by. We have to work for them. So once I get a surfer in my system I use the huge amount of blogs and sites I have to give myself a 90 to 95% chance that when he clicks off he is either going to a sponsor or to another place of mine. This also helps with filtering the traffic down into selling blogs. Let's face it---someone surfing for "teens" is very unlikely to buy anything---there is just too much free stuff out there. But if you can filter that teen surfer down into a micro-niche (say--teens in bikinis on beaches) then you increase your odds of closing the sale.

Number 2---This business fluxuates bad sometimes. For instance--Monday teens were converting for me. Tuesday it was Asians. Wednesday it was reality POV. Yesterday it was teens again. If all I had out there was "teens" then I would have 2 days with sales this week instead of 4 so far. I checked stats a few minutes ago and have two MILF sales today. You almost have to spread out in order to have a chance at a daily income from blogs. (Along with about 20 other things you need to do to get that daily income but that is a whole different post).

Blogs are not making me rich but they pay my living expenses and i dont live cheap. Two 1/2 years ago my total adult income for the year was less than 5000.00. That has drastically improved since i switched to full time blogging and shut down almost everything else.

You are right on this. It has a lot to do with cross linking that makes this so but what most people don't seem to realize is they really aren't getting much with these pre-built blog posts.

I ran a test awhile ago with two blogs. One I made several posts a week, with pre-built text. The other blog I made a total of 7 blog posts the entire month but each post was hand written, and text heavy. In the end the pre-built site with logs of blog posts but all with unoriginal text got about 10 to 15 unique visitors a day while the other site got about 150 to 200 a day.

For me I plan on writing my thoughts on subjects as They organize themselves into an actual notable topic that I am compiling information on for my own use.

So my blog will have good information in it and will develop on a subject as I learn it my self. Guess you could say instead of just me thinking out loud I will be writing it down.

Some people who read my thoughts as I write them down will undoubtedly think I am nuts or just way off base. And sometimes they will be right. But at the same time what I wrote got them there to my page.

But I think over time I will develop a following to my blog because it will be full of the mechanics behind the useful information that is written within a topic. Like keywords. my thoughts and ramblings about keywords will have impact from a lot of different directions.

I am having a text blog for now maybe later I will do some other blogs like you are garcia.

I was reading one of your posts, the first one and since I seen a previous post mentioning you were new I thought i would throw some advice your way. Something that stuck out right away was your lack of proper linking for SEO purposes.

Your first paragraph says "I am putting together a site called sexpooltable" and then you link to your website.

How many people a day do you think go searching Google for the keyword "sexpooltable"? I would venture to guess "sex on a pool table" probably has far far far more searches.

So instead why not say .... I'm putting together a new site all about Sex on a Pool Table.

Think carefully about the words that make up your links as they are very relevant to your search engine popularity.

Kelli
google ad words keyword tool is what I use as my indicator.

average searches per month:

sex on a pool table......................880
sex pool table............................2400
fuck pool table...........................1600
fucking pool table.........................390
fucked pool table..........................780

Just typing it in google.

sex on a pool table.......................986,000 results
sex pool table..............................1,050,000
fuck pool table..............................665,000
fucking pool table..........................581,000
fucked pool table...........................580,000

I would agree with you that "sex on a pool table" would be the best way of saying it. But if google keywords tool is accurate then the way I have it is the best way.

I based the purchase of this domain on the above.

This is the gray area in my knowledge about keyword phrase domains. All of the things that I have read or heard thus far leads me to believe that as a site ages in a search engine it will eventually work its way to the top of a catagory. Catagory being keyword phrase. IF the domain is the one with the directest usage of the phrase.

The word Fuck gets 20 million searches a month but fuck(.)com is not first on the list. That is another one of the unknown variables to all of this.

But maybe the master of fuck com got penalized for having this list of keywords.

<META name='keywords' content='married adult dating,adult site personal,chat room porn,sex dating sites,adult dating,free swinger porn,sex cam,sex toys,download porn movie,porn dvds,porn pov,download porn dvd,download porn dvds,black adult dvds,adult asian dvds,classic adult movies,gay porn,gay black cock,gay orgy,gay video chat,mature swingers,tits,milf sex,milf hunter,bondage gear,fetish personals,bdsm bondage,couples swinger clubs,black lesbians fucking,lesbian sex,lesbian dildo,black ebony lesbian,shemale personals,fucking shemale,shemale cum,tranny sex,porn review sites,porn pay site,porn movies site,buy adult movies,adult toys,sex dates,fleshlight,free porn,sex,adult dates,adult web cam chat,free hardcore videos,realistic dildos,live adult chat,free adult personals,blow job,fucking,fuck,bondage,gang bang,bdsm,bondage sex,threesome,orgy,bisexual sex,bi sex,sexy erotic lingerie,erotic sex toy,gay sex,gay sex movie,gay fuck,black gay sex,gay sex video,gay fucking,his first gay sex,free gay sex,gay man sex,gay anal sex,gay blow job,gay male sex,man fucking man,hand job sex,gay sex pic,gay bareback sex,gay man having sex,bareback sex,lesbian sex,lesbian fucking,black lesbian sex,lesbian sex toy,her first lesbian sex,free lesbian sex,free lesbian sex video,lesbian sex video

20 million searches for the word fuck and this (enter your opinion here) needs all these keys.
